Ancient Remedy for Holistic Immune Support
Nature is the best chemist. The immune-supporting ingredients are grown and extracted delicately to stay true to earth’s creations, preserving the plant’s biological integrity.
Crestwood, Kentucky
Kōkua products are produced from outdoor-grown hemp containing flowers rich in terpenes and cannabinoids.
The Bluegrass state has long been known for high quality cannabis. Kentucky has a premier climate, foundation, and geographical location for hemp flower production.
Over half of the surface rocks in Kentucky are limestones. Limestone layers contribute to soil nutrients and water-retention capacity. The soil provides a perfect dosage of limestone-filtered water to the roots of the plant, facilitating the absorption of the minerals.
In addition to prime soil, the geographical location fosters optimal growing conditions for hemp. The latitude has a direct impact on the photoperiod, to which the growth phases of cannabis are correlated. Indica cannabis varieties originated in the Hindu Kush Mountains, where a particular set of light cycles facilitate the flowering stage. Kentucky is situated on the same latitude line that runs through the Hindu Kush Mountain range, the 37th parallel, where the same photoperiod promotes optimal growth and flowering of cannabis with significant cannabinoid content.
Roundhill Farm
Cannabinoid-rich hemp flower is sourced from Round Hill Farm. The woman-owned farm uses organic methods and is just a short distance, within 30 miles, of Kokua’s processing facility.
The farm is located on over 200 beautiful, diverse acres of land in Oldham County Kentucky and is home to rolling horse pastures, wetlands, woodlands, and a variety of animals. Round Hill Farm is a Monarch Butterfly Waystation, Certified Wildlife Habitat by the National Wildlife Federation (NWF), member of Kentucky Proud, and keeper of several beehives.
Hawaiian Haze: Hawaiian Haze hemp flower is a Sativa-dominant hybrid cross emitting sweet fruity flavors further complemented by undertones of soft pine and woody notes. The main terpenes found in Hawaiian Haze flowers include myrcene, alpha-pinene, beta-caryophyllene, and limonene.
White CBG: White CBG contains deep sweet aromas, with dominant scents of lemons, limes, gas and pine. The dominant terpenes are farnesol, a-bisabolol, and guaiol. The taste profile of White CBG is creamy and floral with a hint of pine and lemon aftertaste. CBG-A is the stem cell cannabinoid, meaning it is the first cannabinoid that is developed and all other cannabinoids grow as a result of its development. White CBG was specifically bred to contain elevated levels of CBG-A.
Subcritical CO2
CO2 in its subcritical, liquid phase enables extraction via low temperatures and pressures to preserve delicate therapeutic compounds, such as terpenes, CBDa, and CBGa. CO2 extraction offers unprecedented tunability and delicacy for processing hemp flower.
Kōkua’s founder has been immersed in research and extraction using CO2 technology for eight years. She published research articles in Extraction Magazine in 2018 assessing subcritical versus supercritical extraction parameters, as well as an in-depth analysis of fractional CO2 extraction as it relates to the cannabinoid content and profiles present in the extract over the course of the process run time. Marie personally developed her own preferred processing methods and regularly tunes her extraction parameters based on the assessment of the input floral biomass and cultivar characteristics.

Deep-Dive into Defend

Cannabinoids
Cannabinoids are molecules found in the hemp flower offering functional support by interacting with the cannabinoid receptors of our body’s endocannabinoid system. CBG-A is at the top of a cascade reaction that yields the three major cannabinoid lines CBG, CBD, and THC.

Terpenes
Terpenoids, often referred to as terpenes, are the aromatic constituents of essential plant oils and extracts that function as major biosynthetic cellular messengers. Terpenes are pharmacologically active and work synergistically with cannabinoids to enhance therapeutic effects.

Botanicals
The essence of functional botanicals infused with organic MCT oil to support the immune system. High in caprylic and capric acids, the antibacterial and antiviral carrier MCT oil can act as a natural antibiotic.

Cannabinoids may play a major role in the central nervous system and the immune system by activating and inhibiting non-cannabinoid receptors as well as enhancing the synthesis and activity of anandamide (AEA).
CBG-A and CBD-A were the subject of a recent study assessing how cannabinoids interact with the endocannabinoid system and overall health. The research found that the two cannabinoid acids can bind to proteins that affect wellness, thus potentially offering new avenues to support immune health.
Coconut MCT Oil*
Coconut MCT oil contains a blend of high quality medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs) which are health-promoting saturated fatty acids. MCTs are fuel for your brain and can aid your body’s ability to burn body fat as energy and boost natural energy, metabolism, and mental clarity. High in caprylic and capric acids, this antibacterial and antiviral oil can act as a natural antibiotic - boosting the immune system and combating harmful bacteria and viruses, thus also supporting a healthy gut microbiome.

Vitamin D
Responsible for increasing intestinal absorption of calcium, magnesium and phosphate, Vitamin D plays a vital role in your overall health. It is essential for bone density, building your immune system and regulating cell growth, among other key biologic functions.
Cardamom Essential Oil*
A member of the Zingiberaceae family, the sweetly aromatic cardamom is the fruit of a tropical plant related to ginger. Cardamom has antiseptic and antimicrobial properties, well known for boosting the digestive system. With antiseptic and antimicrobial properties, cardamom promotes balance of the gut microbiome thus aiding in regulation of immune homeostasis.
